Went to the riverwalk this morning bout 6:30...Felt pretty good after taking it easy yesterday and then staying away from the adult beverages last night at the Auburn game (War Eagle by the way). I went out pretty conservatively, I thought anyway, but as it turned out, I just didn't have the stamina for this distance. I had to take 3 seperate walk breaks...each one I had to really talk myself into running again. But I finished it! and finished it jogging. This gives me a lot of confidence toward getting more mileage under my belt...Remember last month was 50 miles...This month, I'm already at the 30 mile mark and not even at the halfway point yet.
Used the water belt today with 1 water bottle and 1 filled with chocolate milk. Actually felt like the chocolate milk gave me a boost and I always chased it with a drink of water so that my stomach wouldn't curd up and make my sick.
This week, I taper back a bit with my schedule being a 3-5-3 week and then 7 for a long run Saturday.
For now, I'm feeling pretty good...Iced the joints when I finished. Shin felt pretty good all day today. Maybe I'm ready to turn this up a notch. We'll see.
