I'm halfway through week 8 with two runs under my belt and two to go. Monday night after man time, McGonnegle and I did a double 8 at the park for about 3.7 miles...we kept the pace easy as it was my first post 12 miler run. Believe or not, it felt great! We ran it in about 35 minutes, but at no point during the route did I even feel fatigued. I was excited about that.
This morning, I woke up at 4:25 and was on the road by about 4:45. I got in 7.28 miles this morning. It was a great run! I ran from the house, past the park into downtown. Hit Broadway at the TSYS building and then down to 12th where I turned back up to 6th. Then back home by the park and up Country Club for the last mile. No stops! The whole run felt great. No pain anywhere. Feet, shoulders, shin...all felt fine! Finished in 1:08. Again, not a fast pace, but a 9:21 mile pace for that far is probably the fastest run I've had yet. And the best thing about it...it was about 51F this morning! Perfect weather for a run!
Tomorrow is a 3 miler and then Saturday will be a new long for me at 13 miles. Not sure what the route will be yet, but I'll probably try to work a little more hills into it. We'll see!
By the way, this week isn't only going well because of the running...God is moving! In my guys study, He's moving; in Sunday School, He's moving; and at home, He's moving. It is awesome to be drawn to Him.
